For Owners: Replacement Lights

Hello.

We have obtained quotes to replace the lamps in the rear garden - two of the current lamps don't work and one has broken beyond repair. The firm was asked to supply quotes for some products which were 'like for like'. Given the existing fittings are quite old they could not source them. They supplied quotes for two replacement products and we need to choose.

Here are the two options.

Mushroom Post Light

Louvered Christmas Tree Post Light

Unless there is strong objection, my inclination is to proceed with the Mushroom Post Light: it's a more elegant design than the Christmas Tree lamp which, when mounted on the pole could look like a prop from Star Wars or a harpoon; it's closer in design/shape to the original fitting (like for like); and, while both lights have shades that cast the light downwards, the Mushroom Post Light looks to me like it would do the job of providing safety and security more effectively.
